Задание 8
Study the task. Read the sample answer and choose all the missing points. Imagine that you and your friend are doing a school project “Man's best friends“. You have found some photos to illustrate it but for technical reasons you cannot send them now. Leave a voice message to your friend explaining your choice of the photos and sharing some ideas about the project. In 2.5 minutes be ready to: ● explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting the differences; ● mention the advantages (1–2) of keeping a dog and a cat as a pet; ● mention the disadvantages (1–2) of keeping a dog and a cat as a pet; ● express your opinion on the subject of the project – whether you would prefer to have a dog or a cat as a pet and why. You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (12–15 sentences). You have to talk continuously. The pictures are relevant to our project because in both pictures there are people spending time with their pets. In one photo, there is a boy hugging his dog. They are looking at the water on the bank of the river. The dog is big, a German Shepherd, I suppose. In the other photo, there is an old man holding his cat. The cat is white and fluffy. The old man loves his cat a lot. There are a few differences to illustrate our project better. In one photo, we can see a young boy whereas in the other photo, there is an old man. Another difference is that the boy and the dog are outside, near the river I suppose, while the man and his cat are inside a flat or a house. In my opinion, keeping a cat and a dog as a pet has some advantages. For instance, dogs are very understanding animals. They understand their owner’s feelings. Dogs are also very good pets for active people because they need to be walked with. Cats don’t need to go out. That’s why they are good pets for old people or for people who don’t have much free time. As for me, I’d prefer to have a cat as a pet. I like the way they walk, eat, purr, behave in general. I like that I won’t have to go out with my pet every day. I’m a busy person for that. That's why I would like to have a cat as a pet.
