Задание 12

Read the text and categorise the statements, according to the text. Pablo Picasso painter (1881-1973) Pablo Picasso is a very famous painter. He was born in Malaga, Spain in 1881, but he lived most of his life in Paris, France. In 1902 he started painting the poor people he met on the streets, so his paintings were very sad and dark. This period in his work is called the 'blue period' (1901–04). In 1904 he started his 'pink period', in which he painted the world of the circus: clowns, acrobats and musicians. The paintings from that period are very happy and full of pink colours. In 1909 he worked with another artist, Georges Braque. Together they painted 'abstract' pictures. In an abstract picture, you only see lines and colours, and it is very difficult to understand what exactly you are looking at. Picasso's most famous painting is 'Guernica', which he painted during the Civil War in Spain, in 1937. It is a dark, sad and abstract picture about the war.

Задание 14

𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐛𝐛𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭. Our hobbies can help us to build our self-esteem. It depends on what kind of hobbies we prefer. Everyone has a hobby. Some of us look forward to it every day after work or school, while others make their hobbies their job. Some people just do something to pass their free time without feeling any passion or interest. There are two types of hobbies — passive and active. Active hobbies help you to get better. You can build your skills or become an expert in different fields. Passive hobbies are just about spending time without learning anything new. For example, you can meet your friends, go to the cinema, play board or computer games, collect something. It's more about passive hobbies. But if you like knitting, sewing, drawing, songwriting, playing musical instruments, or doing sports, you have an active hobby, as you develop different skills. There is nothing wrong with having passive hobbies. It's quite cool when we spend our time with friends and family just talking and doing nothing, but if you want to build self-esteem, encourage or surprise yourself and others, try to find your passion. By the way, doing an active hobby can bring you some money too. You can become a musician if you like playing musical instruments and singing, or you can have your online shop with stuff you have sewn or knitted. You will have plenty of opportunities.
